Jay Leonhart is an acclaimed bassist, poet, songwriter and performer. He has thrice been awarded the Most Valuable Bassist by the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences. He has played bass for many of the jazz greats of the last thirty years; from Judy Garland to Carly Simon, from James Brown to James Taylor. In addition to composing such catchy tunes as "Customs" for "Secrets..." he was also the original bassist for the Off-Broadway production.
