Sandra B. Eskin

Sandra B. Eskin has been affiliated with Adventure Theatre – MTC (ATMTC) in Glen Echo, Maryland for more than 35 years – as a patron, as a Board member, and a playwright. Sandra’s first ATMTC production was a 2004 musical stage adaptation of the beloved children’s book Molly’s Pilgrim. Over the past two decades, Sandra and her writing partner, Michael J. Bobbitt, have collaborated on a number of stage adaptations of popular children’s books, starting with Just a Dream and Jumanji (both books by Chris Van Allsburg). Just a Dream toured in DC-area schools and in Singapore.  Jumanji won the Helen Hayes Award for best production for young audience.  More recently, Sandra and Michael adapted Blueberries for Sal and Make Way for Ducklings for the stage, with music and lyrics by William Yanesh. Mother Goosed!, a farce based on everyone’s favorite children’s rhymes, opened ATMTC’s 2025-20026 season.

 

In addition to her work with ATMTC, Sandra has had readings and productions of her plays at the Source Theatre Festival and the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington.  Sandra graduated from Brown University where her honors project for her majors in Semiotics and Classics was a play based on life and works for Cicero. 

 

When Sandra is not writing plays for young audiences, she works as a consumer advocate focused on improving the safety of the food safety. A graduate of UC Law- San Francisco, Sandra is the CEO of the non-profit organization Stop Foodborne Illness.
