Opportunity to perform from Disney's Frozen JR. at the Junior Theatre Festival in April
To celebrate the eagerly-awaited release of Disney's Frozen JR, MTI will give one lucky school/youth group the chance to perform an excerpt from their licensed production of Disney’s Frozen JR. to an audience of over a thousand young people at MTI’s Junior Theatre Festival (JTF), to be held at Birmingham’s ICC on 29th April 2023.
The successful school/youth group will receive free access to the Festival, a travel and accommodation bursary of £1500 and be invited to perform “Fixer Upper” from the show on the main stage during the Festival’s Awards Ceremony.
Ryan Macaulay, Director of Operations, Education & Development for MTI’s London office, said, “We can’t wait to share the magic of Disney’s Frozen JR. with young performers all over the UK and Ireland. At the same time, we’re thrilled to work with our partners at Disney Theatrical Group to offer this unprecedented opportunity for one lucky group to perform their hearts out in front of a huge audience of their peers. As the song says, ‘It's time to see what I can do, to test the limits and break through!’”

HOW WILL THE CHOSEN GROUP BE SELECTED?
PART 1 – ONLINE REGISTRATION PROCESS
The online registration process asks you to demonstrate how you will use this opportunity to strengthen your school/youth group community, provide outreach to underserved groups, and support inclusive and diverse theatre programmes.
PART 2 – SHARE YOUR REHEARSAL VIDEO
Share your rehearsal video by email to frozenvideo@mtishows.co.uk
The rehearsal video can be a recording on your mobile device – we are not expecting fully produced videos, and the quality of your rehearsal video will not affect the decision making process.
Performing on the main stage at the Junior Theatre Festival can be incredibly daunting for even the most seasoned of performers, the video audition will show how your young people work together to support and encourage throughout a performance. It should show creativity, inclusivity and a commitment to both ensemble and storytelling.

About the Junior Theatre Festival
The annual event, produced by MTI and held at the ICC in Birmingham, brings together young musical theatre enthusiasts from schools and youth groups across the globe. Following a mass welcome event and warm-up in the main theatre, groups head for adjudication where they share performances of their Broadway Junior shows (specially adapted versions of West End and Broadway shows designed specifically for young people). The performances are reviewed by a panel of professional directors, choreographers and musical directors. These adjudications are a chance for the young performers to receive advice and constructive criticism from professional creatives. Following lunch, groups gather in the main theatre to watch a New Works Showcase, which features excerpts from upcoming Broadway Junior shows soon to be released by MTI. Students then move to attend West End workshops which focus on the disciplines of acting, singing and dancing whilst teachers and directors attend their own, specially curated workshops delivered by iTheatrics, the education specialists from New York City. An elaborate Awards Ceremony, recognising the achievements of the day and featuring exclusive performances from West End stars, rounds out the day. For full details visit www.jtfeurope.co.uk
