The United Kingdom of Frozen

Be the first school in your region to stage FROZEN: the West End Musical!

The United Kingdom of Frozen: Love Is an Open Door will grant one school in every region across the UK the chance to win the stage rights and be the first to present the full-length version of Disney’s FROZEN the Musical.

For the first time in forever, experience the musical phenomenon that has taken the world by storm! Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, Disney’s Frozen includes all the film’s beloved songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, along with new music written exclusively for the stage. Now, MTI is offering secondary schools throughout the UK the chance to perform this powerful show on their very own stages.

Who will judge the applications and how will they choose the winners?
Representatives from Music Theatre International and Disney Theatrical Group will work alongside an independent judge to assess applications based on merit and need.

In circumstances where we receive more than 25 applications in a single region a shortlisting process will be implemented in that region using the merit and need criteria.

Merit refers to the qualities or achievements in the school’s drama/music departments that are worthy of recognition. This could include a highly engaged student population in the arts, the creativity and engagement of drama/music in the school and/or the wider impact the arts have, or could have, in the school and extended community.

Need implies that the school would seriously benefit from being selected as one of the winners. For example, the free licence might enable a school to mount a production on a scale never seen before. It could also allow schools who would otherwise not have the means to license a musical the ability to do so.
