The King's Speech Now Available for Licensing

We're delighted to announce that rights to stage the acclaimed play version of The King’s Speech, are now available.

This stage adaptation of the award-winning story offers performers and audiences a powerful, intimate theatrical experience centered on courage, friendship and finding one’s voice. Adapted for the stage by David Seidler from his original screenplay, The King’s Speech tells the remarkable story of Britain’s King George VI and his unexpected partnership with Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue. As the world stands on the brink of war, an unlikely friendship helps the reluctant monarch overcome a debilitating stammer and deliver a historic radio address that would inspire a nation.

The play had its World Premiere in February 2012 at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford before a run at the Wyndham's Theatre in London's West End in March 2012. The licensable version of the play opened to critial acclaim at the Watermill Theatre in Newbury in September 2024.
