Madagascar The Musical is a theatrical rendition of the 2005 DreamWorks blockbuster children’s film Madagascar with Book by Kevin Del Aguila and Original Music and Lyrics by George Noriega & Joel Someillan. DreamWorks Theatricals teamed up with Broadway Across America for their second venture into stage productions to create this production.


Madagascar was first produced at the Coterie Theater in Kansas as part of The Coterie’s Lab for New Family Musicals. This production was directed and choreographed by Jerry Jay Cranford.

Riverdale Children’s Theatre in collaboration with iTheatrics and Musical Theatre International produced one of the first productions of this much-loved story.

Madagascar also toured nationally, stopping at numerous places including Radio City Music Hall in New York, NY.


  • Due to how catchy and well-recieved the song “Move It, Move It” was in the film, it is included in the book with other new music.
