(STEPMOTHER and the STEPSISTERS enter again as the MICE scurry and hide.)
(The STEPSISTERS dump a pile of dirty socks on CINDERELLA's head and exit. The MICE clench their paws in anger.)
(GUS takes a bow, and offers his paw.)
Why sir, are you asking me to dance? How lovely!
(CINDERELLA and the MICE begin to dance around the room, changing partners, as they all sing.)
STEPMOTHER
Girls, don't forget to give Cinderella your laundry. It's dirty sock day!(The STEPSISTERS dump a pile of dirty socks on CINDERELLA's head and exit. The MICE clench their paws in anger.)

Now now, fellas, it's all right. I'm not going to think about dirty socks. I'm going to think about the ball. All the ladies in their fancy dresses, and all the men with their handsome coats and mustaches, and --(GUS takes a bow, and offers his paw.)
