Naming extra characters
I am doing Alice in Wonderland Jr. with 60 kids. Has anyone done this show with so many kids? How did you utilize all of them? Also, I would like to give students with chorus parts names. Any suggestions?
Hi Lauri! This show can be done beautifully with a very large cast- 60 kids is perfect! The show allows for a highly expandable cast size. A chorus of kids playing in the park, rock lobsters, talking fish, royal cardsmen, unbirthday partiers, as well as a group of mean-girl flowers which can be very large. Ask your kids for name suggestions within their ensemble groups. They might do some historical research and come up with meaningful names to them. My personal opinion is that this number is vvisually more interesting with a large cast and the IMAGINATION part of it is more fun as well.
