Who cares what becomes of the ocean? People have always been fascinated by the sea, but today our exploitation of the earth's resources is beginning to destroy the underwater world. Coral mining, whaling ships, commercial fishing vessels, oil spillages and domestic, industrial and nuclear wastes are all part of a combined assault which means that the ocean can no longer sustain the extraordinary quantity and variety of species that it holds. Ocean World tells the story of a dangerous journey undertaken by a mother whale and her baby calf, with a clear and simple ecological message; if man continues to misuse the sea, he will ultimately destroy all the precious life within it.
